03 Market Research & Competition


This week we started the meeting by choosing which need we are going to focus on. After a brief consideration of all the need we came up with, we choose to focus on how might technology help students who do not study in their native language, understand better the content in class.

We started floating existing solutions for language difficulties. Google translate, Subtitles, Scan pen, etc. Then we tried to identify the main categories in which we can fit the solutions. We slowly started seeing that we can separate between passive use and active use, meaning solutions that the user activate or feed with information and solutions that are being handed to the user without him having to do something. After creating the graphs we centered our fuscous towards Google translate- the existing solution we feel is the most efficient these days and relevant to our subject. Another graph we defined was instant VS none-instant technologies, but as we progressed with the process it became clearer that we would have to sig deeper in learning about these technologies and that the graphs are yet to be determine.

We also started peaching some possible solutions, the ideas were very general, without considering at this point any logistic restrictions and only thinking about how might we solve the problem in the best way that we can. We summered the meeting by scheduling another team meeting in which we plane to continue define our graphs and learn more about the market and competition.
